"God is the one who is for us - therefore we can trust promise which has been set before us. "
Sitting in the weekly meeting with Lelo speaking on the Romans Series from 8 to 9. His talk basically looked at how we can have assurance and confidence in Christ promises which have began way before our foundations on the earth. How His love can not be separated from us! This ties in amazingly with the discipleship groups and follow ups some students have been going through. I could imagine how encouraging his talk would be to a new believer especially so if they are going through discipleship with a student leader.

Everything Skit: This skit was performed over 10 times in different schools, community churches as well during beach evangelism during the MK2MK Summer Project in Durban. I have seen a couple of these skits being performed in student conferences and retreats but what stands out for me of this one in particular is how strong the emotions in it was. It felt real! I am no 3rd year drama major student but being in the audience certainly gave me the opportunity to 'get impressed' and I loved it. The MK's and the interns did a great job in the coordination of these skits from preparation right through to delivery. It represents how we as beings can backslide back into a life of sin filled with our own selfish desires which draw us further away from God while we try to reach God to fail until He comes Himself to redeem us. It has with it a clear cut gospel presentation. This is one incredible creative way to share the Gospel especially in schools and camps. During their project using this tool, we were able to share in to more than 1200 people in churches and school alone!
Pheeeu!
Just returning from a long month of work with the summer projects, MK2MK and WSN with the local students, the next project on our plate as a team is organizing a campus camp which ideally should take place during the 21st to 23rd of September. What I didn't know is that that is the most busiest season for most if not all campsites in and around Durban. Its been quite a stretch in actually securing a campsite for the weekend and for me, things are standing still as we still search for a site. There are many ranging thoughts of putting up the price for students to start arranging either with their parents or just putting it within their budget. Time is really running out of time and I am still looking for campsites to accomodate us. The idea is to have a site affordable for students as we want all our students to be able to come or raise funds to attend camp to the extend as well on how we can assist them to actually come to raise enough funds to attend the camp.

I sit at the back of the bus on our way to Hluhluwe Game Park for a Safari drive. Right across the aisle each MK sits in chatter box mode with anyone if front, next or behind them. Looking at their faces I cannot help but stare at their expressions of just being free to say and do whatever they wanna do within the boundaries of respecting others. Laughs throughout the bus are not an uncommon scene! I'm astounded at the amount of relational engagement they have towards eachother. How much they respect one another and have love for eachone. I mean for me, they truly represent a great image of Christ just by the attitude they have towards their team mates, leaders to even the ladies that prepare their food and rooms, to those they minister to! How great a site to see them all united in love in Christ with eachother and others.

Bonamanzi Game Park is a privately owned safari lodge which is located nearly 5 km's away from the o'so famous Hluhluwe Park. This 3 star park has been turned from a cosy family, couple, friend private game to visit for winter to a complex packed with young blue tshirt wearing high school students. MK2MK celebrates its 10th year of working with missionary kids and also the 10th year of hosting and leading mission trips. As I have mentioned a number of times South Africa, Durban has turned out to be one of the most largest group to come into the project with numbers of total participants running to 105 including staff, interns and the missionary kids themselves. It has been 3 weeks since the 105 groups split equally into 2 to serve in different city's all together namely Port Shepstone and Durban (including its surrounding areas) and now everyone gathers to share on what the Lord has been doing the communities that they have been working in. This period is not about who did what, where and how long, but its about what have we witnessed God transform. Where it being an MK themselves through God refining certain characteristics and attitudes in their hearts to leading someone putting their faith into Christ. The realization that its Him who is at work at his power to transform lives is what we come under the umbrella that unifies us with. I can't wait to hear all those amazing stories of God at work!
The MK2MK Leadership team has in the past run mission trips/summer projects in different countries and continents namely: Botswana, Uganda, Ethopia x 2, Mexico, Spain, Argentina, China to name a few! These amazing opportunities of ministry in other countries not gives MK's an idea of what their parents get to do when they are involved in summer projects and ministry field work but it connects them to other missionary kids which live in the different parts of the world and together they serve. There is such a richness of diversity is mind blowing. There are so many countries represented in this mission trip and even the past namely: France, Spain, Germany, Kazakstan, China, Japan, Hungary, Belgium, Slovakia, Kenya. To have an opportunity to be ministered unto in such cases by such a great cloud of believers is amazing.
Today in, continuing a tradition that started over in Botswana, each participant had to take a rock and place it on a table to symbolize a continuing road of the goodness and faithfulness of God.

I am amazed at what the Lord pulled out today from His hat! Going to the weekly meeting today on one of our campus Westville - it was so amazing seeing how the Lord really united us in His truth and showcased His Spirit among us. Begining the meeting we had technical glitches as always with the projector running late and worship due to begin within a few minutes. As I start panicing about it, it walks in - the next issue is the laptop! Battery is about to die and we only have 10 minutes on battery - that's definately not enough and it's gonna die right in between worship. Panic levels are now tripled! At that time I am praying internally that Lord help us! All this is so unplanned as always. And He does! One of our student brings down his laptop and in less than 2 minutes we got worship slides up as the worship team begins to lead praise and worship. Wowowowowow. I am amazed. Thrilled! Lord you answer prayer.
skit /skit/
Noun:
A short comedy sketch or piece of humorous writing, esp. a parody - its a a brief burlesque or comic sketch included in a dramatic performance!
The MK's have for the passed 4 weeks at isolated times presented a Gospel skit. Its quite popular in the American culture within church groups, organizations and even christian camps. This musical, no script skit was comprised of 6 characters. A guy and a girl dressed in white representing God and us people respectively. The other 4 dress in black portrayed all the things of the world that disguise themselves as sin to disrupt the relationship we have with God namely: alcoholism, love for money, theif and vainity. These are some things that tempt our culture in moving away from God.
Initially the 2 characters depict the initial relationship God wants with his creation: filled with peace, love, security, adoration, affirmation and assurance. Later sins in its intervals rips away the girl and she is found facing identification issues, suicidal thoughts, not measuring up to society, etc. She spends some time struggling with these issues UNTIL she catches a glimpse of God. She struggles to get to him but she is snatched away at each instance until she falls as her strength fails her. Then God huddles over her and his power overwhelms that of the enemy and every black character falls down. He soothes her and cleans her up, welcoming her back home!

Just the past few weeks in itself has been nothing short of being intensly busy. From waking up everyday at 6 am, to keeping track of what happens the next day, communicating to the right people and making sure that there has been clear communication between the team going into schools and the schools, I have been so priveledge to be working with a team that finds matters such as communication integral in ministry and when working with people. This afternoon I have been just reminded of the men and women out there who have been praying for me and my family, who have been dedicating prayers in faith for my team, the ministry opportunities, opportunities to share our faith from one on one evangelism to creative arts outreaches . . . I am entirely humbled by my partners!
