As many as there are missions and ministry out there, out to proclaim the magnificence and glory of Christ, this is equally met with oppositions with the enemy. Great deal of toil and tribulations are certainly to follow whenever work is committed to be the hands and feet to be used to bring a nation to Christ. Pastor today prayed on this, with this amazing song by Jesus Culture being used to just encourage those who are in ministry and also pray for those who are in ministry facing numerous challenges that not only put a dent in the work of God, but at times challenges their spiritual walk with God...but the Grace of God!
Higher
than the mountains that I face
Stronger than the power of the grave
Constant through the trial and the change
One thing remains
One thing remains
Your love never fails it never gives up it never runs out on me
Stronger than the power of the grave
Constant through the trial and the change
One thing remains
One thing remains
Your love never fails it never gives up it never runs out on me
On
and one and on and on it goes
It overwhelms and satisfies my soul
And I never ever have to be afraid
One thing remains
In death and in life I'm confident and covered by the power of your great love
My debt is paid there's nothing that can separate my heart from your great love
It overwhelms and satisfies my soul
And I never ever have to be afraid
One thing remains
In death and in life I'm confident and covered by the power of your great love
My debt is paid there's nothing that can separate my heart from your great love

Recently discovered these pictures in Gary's laptop and thought it would be interesting to share a paragraph on this. I titled it 'And the story continues' because really the story does continue. It continued where the first team picked off, the second team came around and they took it from there, trusting the Lord to tread new grounds and so on! Now the ministry has been faithfully passed over unto us - big deal?? Ya bet. My team and I are really trusting the Lord for a fruitful ministry this year, planting more seeds that were sown, harvesting the field that had been prepared.
Brief intro, these first 2 pictures are from the Durban Staff 2010 and Durban staff 2011 and the last picture is of my current Durban Staff 2012 team.
During my years of studying at UKZN, I have had some of these Staff literally give me a new perspective on who Christ is. They boldly proclaimed Christ Crucified and for a large portion of it, brought some form of resurgent not only to our ministry but also to our campus. Learning from staff members that were on our campus, growing us in our faith created so much of an atmosphere that students spoke boldly of Christ...now the ministry is amazing blessed with so much talented young adults whose aim is to seek the kingdom of God, sharing their faith in Him with students

During the December holidays I got such an awesome opportunity to work with some of these kids in a play at the Civic Theatre Johannesburg along the Drama group from Reddam House. They where between the ages of 9-12, stay with a very bigggggg family at Lambano Sanctuary, a christian haven providing care and support for kids who have been impacted by HIV, do not have families or often rejected by their families with some of the kids at birth. They provide Palliative care and medical attention to some kids who are too ill to be looked after by their care givers. These 5 boys you see here, celebrated their birthdays in February. It might not mean that much of a bigger deal to the ordinary average Jo'burger but to the caregivers, the founders, the supporters, the volunteers, their teachers, etc it means they have seen yet another full year of life!
I remember returning from the play and all I could think about were the very same smiles on this picture that I saw on all those kids. Very humble group of kids I have ever met. The depth of love they have for eachother as, to them, sisters and brothers, was so striking it left me without dry tissue bags. It just reminds me constantly in several occassions how Christ's love is just made out to us, lavishly made out to us! That continued for a number of days. Rediscovering their blog, it was back to square one. There was a dent left and that left me a little bit restless. Though clear as it could be, the Lord made me aware that it had not yet been time for me to pray about them but for them. Like any Christian NPO, Lambano prays their support in and the Lord just blesses them. With the 60 patients they have opened their doors to, a great portion of them are rehabilitated and after years of great and healthy recovery, they are discharged to their families, foster families or adopted. Watching a slide show of some of the pictures from 2009, I cannot even begin to imagine the amount of emotional and spiritual maturity is required to be so bold to look after these amazing kids. Keep praying for you Lambano. That Christ may rise up servants who would go in and not only spend time doing charitable things, but be intentional in grooming the boys and girls for teenagehood, just standing as figures and role models and representing discipler to them, bring them to understand the true acceptance they have and the abundant love thats in our Father!

Its past midnight and I am still up! Trend of sleeping late is starting to get its share of disapproval from my 'morning' version. My 'morning' self feels so cheated of sleep when he wakes up from a late night. Anyways, back to the topic. I watched a quit refreshing seminar by Mr. Tim Keller, the founding Pastor of the Redeemer Presbyterian Church in NYC, and he was speaking on The Gospel and Poor. Hold up...lemmi pick up my notes (jokes). He spoke about a servant heart essentially. One crucial noteworthy point that we, as Christians, should be not only be aware off but demonstrate in our daily. By no means is it radical but necessary. I know I might get some slack from evangelist but I sincerely have faith that in all Jesus demonstrated for us was so that we would know how to serve others, not only spiritually but certainly physically and emotionally! The 2 Gr8 Com's I call the them (Great Commission and Great Commandments) aren't separate two 'concepts'. There is to a large extent a level of synergy between the two and its a matter of us balancing the two, which is quite difficult not impossible, as opposed to saying which is the most important between the two.
James 2:14 all the way down is one of the most confusing text if taken with an already made up mind, which had been for me some few years ago. What Tim says, which I quite resonate with, is that looking at Romans and Acts we see there Paul preaching and teaching alot on justification by faith as well as imputed righteousness with grace being what we saved by (just the gist of it the) and a few books down the line there you have James saying: "Ye...show me your deeds that gave you faith, that justified you.". That's basically what his suggesting....right?....WRONG! What his saying is that because you have been justified, you understand what it means to be a slave, to be broken, to be poor, to be naked, to be hungry most importantly you are saved by grace. Loosely putting it, now good works are to follow. There is no contradiction non-what so ever! Not only did Jesus, bench-mark of our faith, demonstrate the Great Commission and trusted that ministry over to us but he as effectively demonstrated the Great Commandment - finding the balance between the two is essential as these, I mentioned before are in synergy! I am still learning to find the balance between the two!

For the past few days, its been an absolute honour serving the Lord along with Adrian van Vactor on the days I had been around to help him with his shows. He is a phenomenal person, so much wisdom and knowledge on scripture, his such an educated young gentleman, spending time with him on the road, I have really seen his passion for the Lord's work, he catches his role in fulfilling the Great Commission, his love for discipleship, basing everything he does on scripture. The Word completes him, it grounds him, and with no mental reservation what so ever, his awareness of the Spirit of God in every show he does, whether it being to 35 university students or up to 400 high school students - he finds central the Holy Spirit and its role in guiding him in his gospel presentation. In one week, over 4 university presentations/shows, 4 different high school, Westville Prison, 3 different family/home bible studies, 1 high school show, 2 church presentation. With a milkshake each single day and a snack bar to complete his breakfast, by 12pm his done with 2 shows. On Wednesday I found myself sitting in the car listen to his conversation with Gary, team leader aka boss - I was so challenged in some of the things they had been discussing. Ever been in a theological conversation that all you could do is gather up all you can like a wet sponge as you are unable to contribute. Much like Gary, the Lord has blessed them both with so much wisdom.Thats how I felt hahaha. Felt like Pretoria training all again. That actually encouraged me to look intently at the perfect and God-breathed Word. I actually learnt alot just being around him and Gary, still putting my puzzles pieces together
His left for Cape Town for a week then off to the small city of Bloemfontein for another week before rounding off his national outreach in Pretoria then its back to the dry Arizonia, USA.
